The Non-Essential Adventures of D'Art

Happy Christmas, Merry Holiday.

Below is a blog I wrote 2 years ago, it still holds true:

All I have heard this Christmas season, is how all “Christians” hate when other people say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.” I heard it on the news tonight that some people were mad that the White House Christmas card didn’t say “Merry Christmas” but “Happy Holidays” instead. I think this is the most absurd thing to get your panties in a wad about.

I think what Christ would want us to do is feed the homeless or buy a gift for someone a bit less blessed than we are, or perhaps He would be content in us just loving our neighbor. Somehow we get so mad at others taking Christ out of Christmas, by some saying one silly phrase over the other, that we have lost the meaning of being Christ followers, no matter what time of year it is.

So if you are a ‘don’t say happy holidays’ kind of person, then throw your fit, and demand that everyone keep Christ in Christmas…meanwhile, I’m going to try to help feed the homeless guy down the street.

Happy Holidays!
